CIHR Synthesis Grants
Toward Canadian Benchmarks for Health Services Wait Times - Evidence, Application and Research Priorities'.
The Conference of Provincial / Territorial Deputy Ministers of Health and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research funded a program of research to inform the work of establishing evidence-based benchmarks for medically acceptable wait times, in: cancer, heart surgery, diagnostic imaging, major joint replacement, and cataract surgery.
WCWL investigators were awarded grants in two areas: hip/knee replacement and cataract removal. Two reports have been issued on each of these topics and are available here. A summary of findings based on these reports and others is available on the CIHR website.
